Our History
Reading Community Church was formed in July 2005 when two existing churches known as Tilehurst Free Church and Grovelands Christian Fellowship joined together under the leadership of Yinka Oyekan. We changed our name to The Gate in 2016.
In 2020 Sindlesham Baptist Church merged with The Gate and has now become The Gate Sindlesham.
Our Conkers Nursery operates from The Gate Sindlesham site and we also have Acorns Nursery in Empress Road, Calcot.
The Gate is a member of the Baptist Union and Barnabas Fellowship of Churches (BFOC). We see ourselves as part of God’s one church in Reading, under the guidance and direction of the Lord Jesus Christ.
