Evangelism

Evangelism

We have three Evangelism ministries: Reading Evangelistic Festival, Take it to the Community and Reading Revival Outreach (RRO).

Reading Evangelistic Festival

The Easter Festival in Reading is an annual celebration held from Thursday through Good Friday to Saturday in Forbury Gardens and Broad Street. At its heart is Raise Theatre’s live Passion Play, accompanied by outreach initiatives, choir performances, worship music, and activities designed for all ages. The festival seeks to unite churches and key community partners, including police officers, schools, and local workers, in sharing the gospel and engaging with the wider community.

Our aim is to proclaim the hope of Christ in ways that are both creative and relational, drawing people into renewed faith and deeper fellowship. This includes extending a warm invitation to neighbours and friends from the wider community to join in bridging meals, where food and fellowship create space for genuine connection and the sharing of the gospel message. Through prayer walking, worship, and acts of hospitality, the festival embodies God’s love in word and deed.

The program is led and coordinated by The Gate Evangelistic Team, who serve with a vision to see Reading transformed through hope, faith, and the power of the gospel lived out in everyday life.

Take it to the Community

Take It to the Community is our evangelism ministry dedicated to bringing the love and message of Jesus directly to the streets of Wokingham and Woodley. We step out in worship, singing songs of praise, engaging in real conversations, sharing personal testimonies through our flyers, and building relationships with the people we meet.

Our heart is “to actively reach our local community through relationship-focused evangelism that brings the Gospel directly to people’s doorsteps and daily lives, while preparing future generations of evangelists.”

In obedience to Jesus’ command in Mark 16:15 –

Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.

– we carry His hope beyond the church walls and into the everyday places where people live, work, and gather.

Reading Revival Outreach (RRO)

Reading Revival Outreach (RRO), formerly known as Territory Conquerors, exists to awaken hearts and communities to the living Word of God through prayer, worship, and gospel-centred service. The overall aim of RRO is to cultivate a renewed hunger for Scripture, encouraging people to rediscover the Bible as living and relevant. It seeks to foster prayer-centred revival by creating spaces for collective prayer, intercession, and worship that invite God’s presence. At its core, RRO is committed to gospel proclamation, sharing the message of Christ clearly and compassionately, while making room for dialogue and testimony.

Outreach will be managed collaboratively, with groups covering Reading on alternate Saturdays through a monthly rotation. Every six weeks, communities from Reading, Didcot, and Sindlesham will unite for combined outreach, strengthening fellowship and impact. The mission includes prayer walking through Reading town, Our mission includes prayer walking in Reading town and flag worship as a form of outreach, alongside door to door ministry in Tilehurst, The Gate Church’s immediate neighbours. Through these efforts, the goal is to love and serve the community by sharing the gospel and ministering in diverse and practical ways.

Ultimately, Reading Revival Outreach envisions a city and surrounding communities transformed by God’s love, marked by Scripture, prayer, worship, and compassionate service.
